The Miriam Cho Multimedia for Social Justice Internship #TheMiriamChoMultimedia4SocialJustice

September 17, 2021

Just days ago, the Board of ISAAC voted to institute a new internship in honor of our late Multimedia Producer, Miriam Cho, who recently died unexpectedly.  The goal to raise is $30,000 which would help fund and support the internship of eight aspiring AAPI and Latina young adults for one year.

Miriam produced ISAAC’s, “When Women Preach,” podcast which highlights women preachers from API and Latinx faith communities. With the aim of creating a more equal pulpit, each episode addressed ministry experiences and resources that prepare women of color to preach effectively.  The podcast has exceeded 1,500 downloads in a short amount of time.

What Miriam’s accomplishment has demonstrated is the crucial skill sets in implementing social justice today involving multimedia and communications.  ISAAC’s desire is to celebrate and continue in this kind of leadership development through this special internship.

ISAAC’s goal is to raise initial $30,000 – imagining 1,500 audience donating $20.00 each.  We received our first financial gift to seed this internship from Dr. Jerusha Neal upon this announcement.  Dr. Gale A Yee also contributed to this cause.  Both gifts multiply this wonderful internship that will further Miriam’s legacy and the mission of ISAAC.

We hope to begin this internship by the fall of 2022 with the funds in hand.

The Miriam Cho Multimedia for Social Justice Internship will be officially announced at our upcoming 15th Anniversary Gala on October, 16, 2021.

Make an online donation now to support this internship at isaacweb.org/give and select “Miriam Cho Multimedia for Social Justice Internship” when you give.
