Brown Bay Discussion at the PANA Institute (bring your own lunch)
2357 Le Conte Avenue • Berkeley, CA

Come join in a lunch discussion surrounding the book More than Serving Tea: Asian American Women on Expectations, Relationships, Leadership and Faith! The pan-Asian team of authors (Nikki Toyama, Tracey Gee, Asifa Dean, Christie Heller de Leon, Kathy Khang) will be joining the discussion and sharing their experiences.

In order to capture a truly pan-Asian American experience, the authors went to the Hmong community in Michigan, the first nations Hawaiians, adopted Korean children in NewYork, and to the Pakistani community in Riverside, California. Interweaving story and poetry, this book tries to embody the experiences of Asian American women living between cultures formed by race, gender, and faith while stretching the limits of women's authentic teaching voices.

Please make your reservations on-line for the Los Angeles area event. If you are in the Bay Area, bring your own bag lunch for the discussion. So come and join us for stimulating discussions!
