What we Do: Research
What we do > Research
ISAAC is uniquely positioned to support research about and on behalf of APNA Christians. Many of our Board and resource team members have research doctorates and contribute to scholarship. ISAAC seeks to become a place where past and current research on APNA Christianity is gathered, where new research initiatives can be encouraged, and where such research can be published and promoted. Here are our current projects:
Persistent Witness: A Documentary History of Asian American Christianity
This project represents the first attempt to gather representative primary sources of Asian American Christianity in one publication. Documents written or published in their original languages will be translated into English. Key documents from missionaries and other non-Asian American witnesses will be included in this collection, insofar as they illuminate the Asian American Christian experience. Finally, interpretive essays will accompany each section of the publication.
San Francisco Bay Area Chinese Congregational Study
This study will document and describe contemporary Christian ministry and outreach to the Chinese in the six Bay Area Counties: San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Alameda, Contra Costa, and Marin. The study will cover both evangelical and mainline churches, those denominationally connected as well as those that are independent.
Inter-Generational Competency Among Asian American Pastoral Leaders
in process.
Trans-Pacific Transpositions: A History of Chinese Christianity in the United States
The Changing Face of American Evangelicalism Project
